The Sri Lanka Export Development Board has rescheduled Sri Lanka Expo to 14–17 January 2027 at BMICH citing geopolitical uncertainty. The event is expected to host about 750 local exporters and 1,500 international participants across apparel, tea, ICT, pharma, renewable energy and other sectors.

Cabinet approved the Sri Lanka National Export Development Plan 2026-2030, targeting $36 billion in export earnings by 2030. The plan was prepared by the Export Development Board with ADB technical assistance to guide and monitor export competitiveness.
Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said the international tender for personalised e-passports to the Department of Immigration and Emigration remains under evaluation and has not been finalised.
