Colombo Stock Exchange fell with the ASPI down 1.06% (170.82 pts) to 15,878.60 and the S&P SL20 down 1.10% to 4,806.63 on turnover of 8.5 billion rupees. There was a net foreign inflow of 188 million rupees; top positive contributors included Browns Investments, Watawala Plantations, Lion Brewery, Hayleys and Hemas.

The Colombo stock market edged up as the ASPI rose 8 points (0.06%) and the S&P SL20 gained 5 points (0.13%) on turnover of Rs.2.7 billion. John Keells, Commercial Bank, Lion Brewery, R.I.L. Property and food & beverage counters were among top contributors while foreign investors were net sellers of Rs.366 million.

Sunshine Holdings (SUN.N0000) reported consolidated revenue of Rs. 30.1 billion for 1HFY25, up 6.8% YoY, while PAT fell 19.6% to Rs. 2.9 billion. Healthcare revenue grew 16.6% to Rs. 16.1bn and an IFC equity infusion into Sunshine Healthcare Lanka was completed; agribusiness (Watawala) revenue fell 7.4% with PAT down 39.6%.

Sunshine Holdings (SUN) reported consolidated revenue of Rs.30.1bn for 1HFY25, up 6.8% YoY, while PAT fell 19.6% to Rs.2.9bn mainly due to higher taxation in the agribusiness segment. Healthcare was the largest contributor (53.7% of revenue) and the group completed an IFC equity infusion into Sunshine Healthcare Lanka to scale operations.

ASPI rose 0.6% to 12,875 (a multi-week high) as banking and blue-chip stocks led gains; turnover was Rs.2.4bn and foreign investors were net sellers of Rs.23.3m.
