ASPI rose 3.56% for the week but closed yesterday down 0.21% at 21,375.73 as the bourse ended a volatile week; foreign investors were net sellers of over Rs.1.2 billion and market turnover was about Rs.2.7 billion.

Galle Face Capital Partners PLC announced a 1-for-4 share subdivision, increasing issued shares from 29,582,029 to 118,328,116. The company said stated capital (≈Rs.650m) will be unchanged and the effective date will be notified to the CSE; shares closed at Rs.128, with NAV Rs.97.68 (Dec 2025).

Ceylon Land and Equity PLC appointed Kishan Vairavanathan as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Vairavanathan is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of Galle Face Capital Partners and has held senior roles at Janashakthi, Capital Alliance and NDB stockbrokers.
Colombo stock market opened the week higher as the ASPI rose 0.36% (77.31 pts) to 21,676.20, led by plantation counters and conglomerates; turnover was about Rs.4.2bn and foreigners were net sellers of Rs.15.6m.

Almas Holdings increased its stake in Galle Face Capital Partners PLC (WAPO.N0000) to 10.04% (2.9m shares), buying 1.35m shares at Rs.69 and additional tranches at Rs.72.90 and Rs.73.
Colombo's ASPI rose 0.49% to 19,923.02, led by buying in bank counters—mainly Commercial Bank and HNB—while the S&P SL20 edged down to 5,824.91. Notable movers included C T Holdings, Ceylinco, Carson and Dialog higher, with John Keells and Overseas Realty weaker; turnover fell to Rs 3.1bn.
Almas Holdings raised its stake in listed Galle Face Capital Partners (WAPO.N0000) to 10.04% (2,900,000 of 28,894,939 shares) by buying 1,350,000 shares at Rs69, 159 at Rs72.90 and 8,722 at Rs73.
Colombo stock market closed the week lower: the ASPI fell 0.4% to 19,827 and the S&P SL20 lost 1.2%, with yesterday's turnover at Rs.3.26 billion. Diversified Financials led turnover (23%) driven by Galle Face Capital Partners; John Keells, Hemas, Prime Lands and Lankem were also top contributors.
Colombo market fell 1.9% as the ASPI dropped 290 points to 15,711 on turnover of Rs.2.5bn, led by a selling spree; major negative contributors included HNB, SFCL, LOLC, COMB and HAYL. The banking sector accounted for 41% of turnover and its index lost 2.01%.
Galle Face Capital Partners PLC invested $500,000 to acquire 500 ordinary shares in Brilliant Knight International Ltd. (BVI), which will manage listed equities, debt instruments and alternate asset classes in overseas markets, the company said in a CSE disclosure.
