United Motors Lanka PLC's subsidiary Unimo Enterprises unveiled the all-new Perodua Traz SUV and Perodua Alza seven-seater MPV in Colombo, priced Rs. 8.8M–20M with special introductory offers for the first 50 customers. Both models carry five-star ASEAN NCAP ratings and fuel-efficiency ~21–22 km/l.
The ASPI fell 1.09% (232.67 pts) over the week and the S&P SL20 declined 0.95% (57.12 pts). Declines were led by JKH, HNB, CINS, GRAN and BREW while a large negotiated crossing in UML supported market activity; weekly turnover was Rs.2.45bn and foreigners were net buyers of Rs.1.07bn.
First Capital Research: aggregate earnings of 271 listed companies fell 11.4% YoY in the March 2026 quarter (third straight quarter), but underlying earnings rose 30.1% YoY after adjusting for major one-offs. Food, Beverage & Tobacco dragged the aggregate result while retailing and telecom posted strong gains (e.g. UML, DIAL, SLTL, SINS).
Colombo stocks fell as investors shifted to fixed income after a central bank rate hike; ASPI down 1.14% to 21,760 and S&P SL20 down 1.08% to 6,031. Top negative contributors included Dialog, Commercial Bank, Melstacorp and HNB, while United Motors announced a 40-cent dividend.
Colombo Stock Exchange slid midday as the ASPI fell 0.91% (200.70 pts) to 21,810 and the S&P SL20 fell 0.96% to 6,039. Hemas and Colombo Dockyard were positive contributors while Dialog Axiata, HNB, Commercial Bank and John Keells were top decliners; United Motors Lanka announced a 40 cents/share dividend.
United Motors Lanka PLC reported a Group profit of Rs. 3.61 billion for FY26, up from Rs. 73 million a year earlier. The recovery followed the lifting of the vehicle import ban, with Group revenue rising to Rs. 52.36 billion and strong after-sales and trailer exports supporting results.

United Motors Lanka PLC announced a 10-for-1 share split, subject to regulatory and shareholder approval, increasing issued shares from 100.9 million to 1.009 billion. Stated capital will remain unchanged; the board said the split aims to improve market liquidity and reported group NAV/share of Rs.147.52 at end-September 2025.

NDB Bank signed an MoU with United Motors Lanka PLC to provide flexible leasing and financing for UML’s Mitsubishi passenger and commercial vehicles, including Fuso trucks and Rosa buses.
