Colombo bourse finished the week higher, with the ASPI up 0.21% and the S&P SL20 up 0.51%; yesterday ASPI closed at 22,409.81 and the S&P SL20 at 6,247.42. Turnover topped Rs.1.9bn with foreign net inflow of Rs.9.3m; COCR, PKME and SIL led turnover while ACL fell and Hayleys, HNB Finance, Lanka Realty and CIC posted gains.
Colombo Stock Exchange closed higher with the ASPI up 0.89% to 22,407.04 and the S&P SL20 up 0.99% to 6,242.75 on Rs.2.72bn turnover; foreign investors were net sellers of Rs.50.3m.
C T Holdings (CTHR.N0000) has appointed Indira Malwatta as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Malwatta has over 40 years' experience and currently serves on the boards of Samson International, Cargills and Kotmale.
The Colombo market ended marginally higher — ASPI +0.02% to 23,655.68 — on turnover of Rs.3.35 billion with foreign net outflows of Rs.64 million. Top positive contributors included NHL, CFIN, CARG, JKH and LLUB, while Samson International, UB Finance and Sierra Cables led turnover.

Indira Malwatte was honoured with the Sri Lankan Iconic Woman 2025 award at the SLBC centenary. She is the first woman Chairperson of Samson International PLC (SIL.N0000) and was the first woman to chair the Export Development Board.
Samson International PLC reported a 158% profit increase in Q1 (quarter ended 30 June) with revenue up 19% to Rs. 648 million, driven by a 43% rise in export sales. Management attributed the turnaround to market diversification and strategic initiatives implemented over the past year.
Indira Malwatte has been appointed Chairperson of Samson International PLC with effect from 11 February. She succeeds Dr. D. Kulatunga Rajapaksa (resigned Nov 2024) and has been on the Samson board since August 2020.
