Serendib Hotels PLC appointed banking veteran Janakan Selvaratnam as an Independent Director. He has 25 years at Citibank Sri Lanka, consults to Sampath Bank's Board Credit Committee, and serves on the boards of Eden Hotel Lanka and Palm Garden Hotels.
Serendib Hotels PLC has appointed Minor Hotel Group CFO Wayne Williams as a Non-Executive Director. Williams brings nearly 20 years at Minor International and experience from a hotel group operating over 560 hotels and generating more than $5bn in revenue.
Brown & Company PLC reported FY25 consolidated revenue of Rs. 107.82 billion and PBT of Rs. 25.88 billion, with total assets of Rs. 752.69 billion. The Group completed major East Africa Lipton plantation acquisitions, took controlling stakes in Sierra Cables and Tea Smallholder Factories, and saw strong results across its plantations and hospitality units.
Colombo Stock Exchange closed up, with the All Share Index rising 0.05% to 12,171 and the S&P SL20 up 0.14% to 3,595. Turnover was 1.3 billion, top turnover generators included Commercial Bank, Hayleys, John Keells and Sampath Bank, and there was a net foreign outflow of 21 million rupees.
Colombo Stock Exchange rose with the All Share Index up 0.69% to 11,855 and the S&P SL20 up 1.45% to 3,459 on turnover of 2.6 billion; banking stocks led gains while there was a net foreign outflow of Rs 123 million.
