Colombo market closed the week higher as ASPI and S&P SL20 rose about 2% (ASPI 16,937, +358 pts) with turnover Rs.5 billion, led by banks, capital goods and food & beverage stocks ahead of the 2025 Budget.
Hayleys Fabric PLC secured SBTi validation for its net‑zero targets, pledging 42% cuts in Scope 1–2 and 25% in Scope 3 by 2030 and net‑zero by 2050. The validation covers Hayleys Fabric Group (including its subsidiary) and highlights investments in renewables, efficiency and digitalisation.

Hayleys PLC reported H1 Profit Before Tax of Rs.12.73 bn, up 78% y/y, with consolidated revenue rising 17% to Rs.236.15 bn and annualised EPS at Rs.4.23. Growth was led by Consumer & Retail (+52%), Transportation & Logistics (+26%) and Projects & Engineering (+87%); net finance costs fell ~35% and Fitch retained AAA (lka).

Hayleys Fabric PLC received the ZDHC Torchbearer Award for sustainable chemical management at the ZDHC South Asia conference in Chennai on 25 September. It is the first Sri Lankan textile manufacturer to win the award and has been a ZDHC signatory since 2021.
