Lanka IOC Plc launched Servo Futura NXT, a new synthetic petrol engine oil now available in 10W30 and 0W20 at Lanka IOC outlets and authorised distributors. The product is marketed for petrol and hybrid vehicles with claims of improved fuel economy, enhanced wear protection and extended drain intervals.
The ASPI fell 1.5% (253 pts) to 16,818 as the bear run continued, with turnover of Rs. 3.3 billion and foreign net inflows of Rs. 77.7m. Key negative contributors included Commercial Bank, John Keells, Ceylon Tobacco and NDB, while the banking sector led turnover and lost 1.43%.
ASPI fell 0.4% and the S&P SL20 fell 0.7% as Colombo stocks extended losses amid heightened Israel‑Iran tensions. Turnover was Rs.3.15bn; top negative contributors included HNB, COMB, LOLC, HAYL and CTC, while CDB, Hemas, LVL Energy Fund and Lanka IOC saw notable buying/turnover.
ASPI rose 234 points (1.4%) to 17,214 on turnover of Rs.7.37bn, led by banking stocks with HNB, SAMP and COMB among top contributors. Turnover was 72% above the monthly average and foreigners recorded a net outflow of about Rs.273.6m.

Colombo market closed the week higher as the ASPI rose 39 points to 16,855, led by gains in HAYL, CALH, COMB, NDB and RIL; total turnover was Rs. 5.2 billion and foreign investors recorded a net outflow of Rs. 441.6 million.
Colombo market gained further momentum as the ASPI rose 1.15% (183.5 pts) with turnover of Rs. 4.5 billion led by heavy trading in John Keells, Lanka Realty, Commercial Bank, LOLC Holdings and Sampath Bank. Separately, Lanka IOC announced a first and final dividend of Rs. 5 per share.
Colombo market jumped as the ASPI rose 215 points (1.35%) to 16,131, reclaiming the 16,000 level with turnover of Rs.3.3bn. HNB, COMB, CFIN, SAMP, SPEN and JKH were among the top drivers and foreign investors were net buyers (Rs.25.5m).

The government and four major fuel providers, including Lanka IOC, signed an MoU to install 540 modern public sanitation facilities at selected fuel stations nationwide over three years, with at least 100 operational by end-2025.
The CSE opened May on a mixed note as turnover hit a new high of Rs. 6 billion while the ASPI rose 52 points to 15,852; crossings in CT Holdings and Cargills dominated activity, together accounting for the bulk of turnover. Banking and food retail stocks, including Pan Asia Banking and Lankem, were also among top contributors.
CEYPETCO cut fuel prices across categories — Petrol 92 down Rs.6 to Rs.293, Petrol 95 down Rs.20 to Rs.341, Auto Diesel down Rs.12 to Rs.274, Super Diesel down Rs.6 to Rs.325, Kerosene down Rs.5 to Rs.178 — and LIOC aligned its prices. LAUGFS Gas said it will not revise LP gas prices for May 2025.

LAUGFS Gas (LGL) raised domestic LP gas prices — 12.5 kg up Rs.420 to Rs.4,100 and 5 kg up Rs.168 to Rs.1,645; separately CEYPETCO cut petrol by Rs.10 (Octane 92 to Rs.299/l, Octane 95 to Rs.361/l) with diesel and kerosene unchanged.
Indian PM Narendra Modi will launch the delayed Sampur energy project in Trincomalee during his visit; the scheme, first signed in 2006 as a 500 MW coal plant, has been converted to a solar project. Lanka IOC (LIOC.N0000) has been involved in related energy discussions.
The Colombo market closed marginally up with the ASPI +0.2% and S&P SL20 +0.4% as turnover rose to Rs.2.14bn, led by Lankem Ceylon (LCEY) which accounted for about Rs.1.1bn. Capital goods and banking drove activity, with notable movers including HNB, SAMP, COMB, JKH and LIOC.

The Cabinet approved state-owned Ceylon Petroleum Corporation will develop 24 oil storage tanks at Trincomalee's China Bay using CPC funds. The tanks were leased to CPC under the 2022 TPTCL agreement between CPC and Lanka IOC (a JV partner).
Cabinet approved proceeding with the Trincomalee oil tank farm development under the 2022 agreement, allowing CPC and partners including Lanka IOC to move to the next phase without General Treasury funding. The 2022 deal leased 24 tanks in the Upper Tank Yard to CPC for 50 years and CPC has a three-year development plan with regulatory approvals.
The CID is investigating an alleged plot to disrupt fuel distribution after the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation abolished a 3% commission for distributors. Dealers have petitioned the Presidential Secretariat, may refrain from orders or step down if unresolved, and Lanka IOC has reportedly expressed interest in collaborating with dealers.
