Associated Motor Finance Company PLC appointed G.A.R.D. Prasanna as Chairman and Niroshan Udage as Deputy Chairman following its acquisition by L B Finance PLC. Both appointees are LB Finance executives; other board members named include Piyal Hennayake, B.D.A. Perera, Ashwini Natesan and Prof. Nandika Kasun De Zoysa.
LB Finance PLC said the SEC granted AMF an additional four calendar days to circulate the Independent Advisor’s Report and the AMF Board’s views, and extended the voluntary offer closing date to 4:30 p.m. on 24 November 2025; all other offer terms remain unchanged.
LB Finance (LFIN) has moved to fully acquire Associated Motor Finance (AMF) via a mandatory offer effective 29 Oct at Rs.50 per share for 113 million shares, with the Central Bank expecting the merger to complete by 31 Mar 2027. First Capital Research says the deal could add about Rs.25bn to LFIN's loan book by FY27E and support continued loan growth.
Colombo market closed lower — ASPI fell 0.84% (198.24 pts) to 23,461.46 and the S&P SL20 dropped 1.52% to 6,458.15. Banking dominated turnover (39%) and major laggards included SAMP, HNB, JKH, NDB and BUKI while foreign investors were net sellers of about Rs. 788.7 million.
