Hayleys Plantations' companies Kelani Valley Plantations (KVAL.N0000), Talawakelle Tea Estates (TPL.N0000) and Horana Plantations (HOPL.N0000) have established wildlife corridors and conservation programmes to protect Sri Lankan leopards, including KVPL's Elbedda Ridge Corridor (40+ leopards identified) and HPL's 18km Peak-Ridge Corridor.

Regional Plantation Companies are expanding crop diversification — oil palm now covers about 11,000 ha yielding ~Rs 514,000/ha and saving ~USD 17m in edible oil imports — while RPCs including KVAL, ELPL and KAHA report increased high‑value crop plantings and revenues.

Teejay Lanka, Dilmah Ceylon Tea, Kelani Valley Plantations and Talawakelle Tea Estates were appointed Patrons of UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka Working Groups from 2025, with MoUs signed on 20 March 2025; roles cover sustainable supply chains, water stewardship and climate action.

Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (KVAL.N0000) expanded its Kelani Valley Protectors Initiative with a green sponsorship model and has planted 6,500 native trees to protect the Weoya catchment. Sponsors can fund plants at Rs.850 each (including three years' maintenance); volunteers contributed over 2,000 hours and KVPL's Halgolla estate received a 'regenagri' certification.

Hayleys Plantations (Hayleys PLC) hosted its 3rd Best Tea Harvester Competition, where Anthony Iresha Rajaletchumi of Talawakelle harvested 6.2 kg in 15 minutes to win Rs. 500,000. Winners from Kelani Valley, Talawakelle and Horana estates received cash prizes and Singer Sri Lanka-sponsored goods.

Colombo Stock Exchange closed higher: ASPI up 0.98% (147.79 pts) to 15,168 and S&P SL20 up 0.82% to 4,535 on turnover of 5.4 billion rupees. Top contributors included Hayleys, Central Finance, C T Holdings and Sampath Bank, with a net foreign outflow of 94 million rupees.

Hayleys PLC won the Cyril Gardiner Memorial Trophy for Overall Excellence in Corporate Reporting at the TAGS Awards 2024 for the third consecutive year. The Group won 20 awards (13 Gold), with sector wins for Alumex, Haycarb, Horana Plantations, Kelani Valley Plantations and Singer Finance.

Colombo Stock Exchange ASPI rose 0.77% (105.38 pts) to 13,718 as turnover reached Rs4.4bn. Major contributors were diversified financials, capital goods and food/beverage/tobacco, with heavy volumes and gains in Asia Asset Finance, Ambeon Capital, Hayleys, Central Finance, Lanka IOC and others; Sampath Bank fell and net foreign inflow was Rs47mn.
