ASPI hit a new high at 23,731.60 after Friday's 0.10% rise (22.9 pts) while the S&P SL20 rose 0.28% to 6,560.08; market turnover was Rs.4.73bn with foreign net inflow of Rs.65.3m. Top positive contributors were COMB, DFCC, CTHR, NAMU and COOP, and banking made up 38% of turnover.
Colombo Stock Exchange rose 0.10% to close the ASPI at 23,731.60 on Friday, led by gains in Commercial Bank, DFCC Bank, C T Holdings, Namunukula Plantations and Co-operative Insurance. Market turnover fell to Rs4.7bn from Rs9.2bn, with banks and capital goods among key contributing sectors.
Colombo bourse closed the week up 3.45% as the ASPI rose 0.54% yesterday to 23,654.30, with the market gaining about Rs. 264.8 billion in value for the week and daily turnover over Rs. 8.5 billion; top contributors included JKH, COMB, VONE, CARS and NTB.

The Colombo stock market gained Rs.84 billion as the ASPI rose 1.42% to 22,445.89. Top contributors included Colombo Dockyard, Melstacorp, Hatton National Bank, Richard Pieris and Commercial Bank, with capital goods, banking and materials driving turnover and hotel stocks seeing buying interest.
Colombo market extended its rally to five sessions as the ASPI gained 1,011.18 pts (4.7%) for the week, reclaiming Rs.320.65 bn in market value; yesterday ASPI closed at 22,508.26 with turnover of Rs.3 bn. Top contributors included SFCL, JKH, HAYL, WIND and VLL; DOCK and HNB saw share price declines.
Colombo Stock Exchange regained nearly 40% of last week's Rs. 424 billion loss as the ASPI rose 2.04% (439.46 pts) to 22,034.32. Top contributors included DOCK, CINS, COMB, SAMP and ACL, with turnover around Rs. 3.88 billion.

Co-operative Insurance Company PLC appointed Dayasumana Gamage as Acting Managing Director and Acting Principal Officer, effective 29 October 2025. The appointment was approved by the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka and fulfills the statutory requirement for the Principal Officer; he will continue as Vice Chairman.
Co-operative Insurance Company PLC partnered with PickMe to provide a Rs.3 million personal accident insurance cover for PickMe drivers as part of the Nena Pahana programme. PickMe supported over 650 students this year, donated laptops to 10 top A/L students and allocated Rs.9 million for 2025 (Rs.29m to date).
