Ceylon Investment PLC proposes to repurchase up to 1,800,014 ordinary shares at Rs.203.33 each for a total of Rs.365,996,846.62, with the offer expected to run 2–23 Sep subject to regulatory concurrence. The Board approved the buyback, signed a Certificate of Solvency and says its Articles permit the repurchase without shareholder approval.
First Capital Research: aggregate earnings of 271 listed companies fell 11.4% YoY in the March 2026 quarter (third straight quarter), but underlying earnings rose 30.1% YoY after adjusting for major one-offs. Food, Beverage & Tobacco dragged the aggregate result while retailing and telecom posted strong gains (e.g. UML, DIAL, SLTL, SINS).
