Colombo market ended a three-day decline as ASPI rose 0.77% (174.03 pts) to 22,819.91 and S&P SL20 gained 0.30% to 6,298.75. Market turnover exceeded Rs.4bn with banking counters (led by Hatton National Bank and DFCC) dominating activity while foreign investors were net sellers of ~Rs.213.2m.

CIC Holdings reported consolidated revenue of Rs. 41.6 billion and PAT of Rs. 3.25 billion for 1HFY26, up 7.2% and 14.7% YoY respectively. Growth was driven by margin recovery and strong performances in Crop Solutions (40% of revenue), Livestock and Health & Personal Care; EPS rose to Rs. 6.86 and total assets reached Rs. 98.6 billion.
CIC Holdings PLC reported consolidated revenue of Rs.41.6 billion for 1HFY26 and PAT rose 14.7% YoY to Rs.3.25 billion. Crop Solutions accounted for about 40% of revenue and group EBIT increased 18.6% to Rs.5.7 billion, with broad-based segmental profit growth.
Lanka Tiles PLC has appointed Harsha Amarasekera as a Non-Executive Director; he also joins the board of Lanka Walltiles PLC. Amarasekera is an experienced attorney and currently holds leadership roles at Sampath Bank, CIC Holdings, Swisstek, Vallibel Power Erathna and Royal Ceramics.

The Sri Lanka–Singapore Business Council elected Janaka Gunasekera (A. Baur & Co.) as President for 2025–26 at its 28th AGM and confirmed a new executive committee. Overseas Realty GM Nirupa Peiris was elected Vice President, Aitken Spence's Jerome Brohier Treasurer, and the committee includes CIC Holdings and Ceylon Grain Elevators.
Colombo market fell as the ASPI and S&P SL20 declined 1.25% amid profit-taking led by banks, with ASPI down 257 points — the largest intraday drop since 23 June. Turnover was Rs.4 billion and foreigners recorded a net outflow of Rs.80.5 million; several bank counters led losses.

CIC Holdings' veterinary arm CIC Vetcare is partnering with MSME SAJ Associates to launch two natural herbal dog products (soap and shampoo with neem, athora and goat milk) and provide marketing support. CIC says clinical trials show good quality and the link will help about 750 herbal-ingredient farmers in NCP.
Link Natural Products, a subsidiary of CIC Holdings, ran World Environment Day sustainability activities, planting 300 indigenous medicinal plants at a Navy camp, over 500 trees in the Kelani River valley and 400 perennial plants along Nallanthinniya–Maskeliya. Its 'Saara Osu' programme will have distributed Rs.32 million to outgrower farmers by end 2024/25.
Colombo market rebounded as the ASPI gained 129 points (0.7%) on fresh buying, with turnover of Rs.5.98bn. Banking and construction led gains — HNB, Central Finance, R I L Property and Melstacorp were among top contributors while foreign investors were net sellers of Rs.84.4m.

ASPI rose 138 points (0.8%) to 17,353 as the CSE extended its rally on turnover of Rs.7.37bn, led by heavy trading in CDB and CFIN; notable price gains were seen in CDB, CFIN, CTC, HHL, CIC and SUN, while SPEN topped net foreign buying and PKME topped net foreign selling.
CIC Holdings reported consolidated revenue of Rs.83.3 billion for FY25, up 9.0% YoY, with gross profit of Rs.22.2bn, EBITDA of Rs.12.4bn and PAT of Rs.6.6bn (PAT lower due to a FY24 one-off bargain purchase gain); net finance costs fell 38% to Rs.1.6bn. Crop Solutions remained the largest segment (41% of revenue) with broad-based growth across its five core businesses.
