Colombo bourse closed the week up 3.45% as the ASPI rose 0.54% yesterday to 23,654.30, with the market gaining about Rs. 264.8 billion in value for the week and daily turnover over Rs. 8.5 billion; top contributors included JKH, COMB, VONE, CARS and NTB.
Ceylon Hospitals (Durdans) will seek shareholder approval to subdivide voting shares from 31,762,723 to 127,050,892 and non-voting shares from 10,133,765 to 40,535,060 (1-for-4); stated capital will remain at 1,778,802,331.50 rupees and the plan is pending regulatory approval.
Ceylon Hospitals (Durdens) will propose a 4-for-1 subdivision of both ordinary voting and non-voting shares, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. Voting shares would rise to 127,050,892 and non-voting to 40,535,060, with stated capital unchanged at Rs. 1,778,802,331.50.

The Association of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes appointed a new Governing Council for 2025–2027, naming Raveen Wickramasinghe as President. The council includes representatives from Asiri, Nawaloka, Lanka, Ceylon and Singhe hospitals and will focus on policy advocacy, quality and capacity building.

Ceylon Hospitals PLC (Durdans Healthcare Group) appointed Dr. Lasantha Karunasena as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Medical Services, effective 1 January 2025. The company described the move as a strategic redefinition of senior management to enhance performance and healthcare delivery.
