Colombo market rebounded with the ASPI up 0.35% to 22,174.74 and turnover of Rs.13.3 billion amid upbeat sentiment after the IMF's positive review; the banking sector led turnover (48%) and Commercial Bank, DIMO, Bukit Darah, Carson and Wind were among top contributors.
IMF staff-level agreement gives Sri Lanka access to about US$347m and Colombo stocks closed higher; the ASPI rose 0.51% to 22,209.83. Turnover was Rs 13.3bn led by banks and diversified financials, with top contributors Commercial Bank, DIMO, Bukit Darah, Carson Cumberbatch and WindForce.
Colombo market dipped as ASPI fell 0.3% and S&P SL20 fell 0.4% on turnover of Rs.7.3bn, with foreign investors net sellers of Rs.196.2m. Banking counters and conglomerates saw profit-taking while food retail and capital goods recorded high turnover and mixed price moves.

Commercial Bank, Melstacorp, Browns Investments, Sampath Bank and Bukit Darah were top negative contributors; foreigners were net sellers of Rs.2.3 billion and weekly turnover averaged Rs.5.8 billion (Chevron Lubricants off-board trades Rs.2 billion).
Colombo market closed marginally up as the ASPI rose 0.2% (47 points) on turnover of Rs.7.46 bn while the S&P SL20 fell 0.2%. Dialog, Ambeon, Bukit Darah, Carson Cumberbatch and LOLC led gains, with EB Creasy, Sierra Cables, LVL Energy Fund and Raigam Wayamba also active and recording price gains.
Colombo ASPI rose 0.23% to 20,800.26 while the S&P SL20 fell 0.27% to 6,045.77. Alliance Finance said it will raise Rs1.5bn via listed unsecured subordinated bonds; Ambeon and Bukit Darah gained while Carson Cumberbatch fell.

The ASPI rose 0.46% to 19,467.71 as retail buying in diversified financials lifted the market. Top contributors included Central Finance, C T Holdings, DFCC Bank, Bukit Darah and Melstacorp.
The Colombo Stock Exchange ended the week with the ASPI up 0.6% and net foreign inflows of Rs.155.9 million, with weekly turnover averaging Rs.2.97 billion; notable contributors included HHL, COOP, SUN, CTHR and BUKI.
Central Bank cut rates by 25 basis points, lifting the Colombo Stock Exchange 0.19% as the ASPI closed 31.49 points higher at 16,504.86. Hemas, Co-operative Insurance, Sunshine, C T Holdings, Bukit Darah and Haycarb were among gainers while Teejay Lanka and Dipped Products fell.
Carson Cumberbatch PLC (via its subsidiary Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC) sold its entire 2.173 million-share holding in Equity Hotels Ltd to Lavendish Leisure for Rs. 243.5 million. Following the sale, Equity Hotels will no longer be part of the Carson Cumberbatch/Bukit Darah group.
ASPI fell 67 points (0.4%) on low turnover of Rs.1.65bn; HNB was the largest negative contributor after its ex-dividend date, while SAMP, RICH, HAYL, HHL and SUN were top positive contributors and banks led turnover.

Sri Lanka's ASPI closed up 1.94% (308.22 pts) at 16,178.47 with turnover of Rs 5.17 billion despite volatility. Banks regained investor interest and top contributors included Sampath, HNB, Hayleys and Bukit Darah, while John Keells, Hemas, Nations Trust and Browns saw high volumes.
Colombo market opened March down with ASPI -1.9% and S&P SL20 -2.1%, turnover Rs.1.5bn; profit-taking in banks (led by HNB, COMB, NDB) drove the fall while CTC, SPEN and AHUN were among top positive contributors; foreigners net sold Rs.127.4m.
