Foreigners were net buyers (Rs. 427.1m); top contributors were JKH, HAYL, DOCK, BREW and BIL, with CARG, CINS, SAMP, NDB and CFIN weighing on the index.
Colombo market rebounded as the ASPI rose 0.67% to 21,547.17 with net foreign inflows of Rs. 22.6 million. Gains were led by selected blue-chip counters and heavy turnover in capital goods and food & beverage names, with notable moves in DIAL, BREW, CCS, ABAN and JKH.

Government's Excise Notification No.03/2025 raises one‑time Industry Entry Fees up to Rs.25m for distilleries (Rs.5m for palmrah arrack), Rs.5m for bottling plus higher annual fees and security deposits, and Rs.10–15m for certain retail licences; existing licensees must top up deposits within 30 days.

Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka reported March-quarter earnings of Rs4.49bn, up 19% y/y, with revenues rising 31% to Rs36.7bn. Group net profit was Rs4.08bn, reflecting a continued demand recovery amid stable prices as the central bank missed its 5% inflation target.

Lion Brewery said sales volumes softened after a 6% excise duty hike in January 2025, leaving the Q4 outlook uncertain. It reported December-quarter revenue up 16% to LKR 31.13bn, EPS of LKR 36, and said it paid LKR 74bn in taxes in the nine months to December.

Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka Plc (DIST.N0000) launched a new range of beers after acquiring 99.4% of Heineken Lanka and rebranding it as DCSL Breweries Lanka Ltd. The lineup (DCSL Strong, Lager, Stout) will be distributed across Sri Lanka and targeted at tourists and export markets.
Ceylon Beverage Holdings (BREW.N0000) told the CSE it has no unpublished price-sensitive information after unusual trading on Dec 12, noting 380 shares traded (0.0018% of 20,988,090 issued). The company said it is unaware of any reason for the price variation.
